Sandie Youngson is a self taught artist, with 30 years experience. She paints in various mediums, her favourite being oil due to its versatility.

Her background is medical but her true passion apart from her husband and family has always been art.

As a young wife and mother, she found herself in many different locations;her paintings provided some sanity during many moves.

A large part of her childhood was spent on the west coast island of Bute, where her family originated. Her trademark is her large dramatic minimal beaches,indeed painting a scene without water is a real challenge. Much of her childhood was spent at various beaches on the island.

Sandie's work is exhibited in various galleries on royal deeside and in private collections in Hong Kong, New York, Canada and New Zealand.

She travels extensively mainly because her three children live on three different continents, but she is at her happiest pottering around her studio.
