Dennis Agabiti Esteves, was born in Santo Andre, Brazil, in January 27th 1976 at Sao Paulo´s metropolitan and industrial region. By the age of 3, his family moved to Sao Caetano do Sul Brazil, where recently installed they suffered with the early death of his father from whom he inherited the manual ability for the drawing. Always supported by his mother Evelyn Agabiti Esteves, a well known Brazilian choreographer, his natural talent for arts were being developed.
Joining the
fundamental school, his notebooks always had more drawings than regular
lessons. His relationship with the art of drawing was very intimous
since the beginning and the little artist shared his child time between
playing on the streets and developing his natural talent for art. Various
artistic manifestations attracted a lot this young kid. The routine
going to his mother’s ballet academy aroused in him an attraction to several styles of music. By the age of 7, he started studying acoustic guitar besides that never went deeply into the study of music; he started to write his own songs.
In 1988,
he joined the ´Arts Panamerican School´ in Sao Paulo. The following
year he first met Sarro and since then his passion for colors arose.
In 1990 with only 14, debuted his first exhibition at Sala Sigma do Instituto
Metodista de Sao Bernardo do Campo, a local university, where he sold his
first colored works of art done with pastel. In 1993, D. Esteves was
one of the members of the experimental ´Evelyn Academy´ dancing group and
helped to conquer several prizes for his mother academy. He also was part
of a 07 months lasting theatrical play at ´Tuca Sao Paulo´ theatre. Parallel
to that he kept developing the art of painting, visiting his master and
friend Sarro´s atelier frequently.
After 1996,
he joined all forces and focus on his painting career and since than
started participating in several exhibitions. In 1997, ´Markus Artes Gallery´ in Sao Paulo, Brazil opened its doors to this artist and was also the first to exhibit his work of art internationally in Geneva/Switzerland in 2000.
After his first exhibition in Europe, his work of art has been regularly exhibited and accepted in that continent, so he decided to move and live in Paris - France.
