Born and raised in Kent, Peter moved to Scotland in 1971 when he
was just 14. Deeply inspired by the majestic mountains and lochs
of the Great Glen, he immediately began painting magical scenes.
Completely self-taught, Peter
turned professional in 1981 opening a gallery of his work in the North
East
of Scotland. It proved very popular
and his paintings can now be found in dozens of countries around the
world, from Australia to America. Equally at home painting Highland or
Mediterranean scenes his highly acclaimed exhibitions have been mounted
in such places as Andorra, Spain; Phoenix, Arizona (City Hall); Nagasaki;
Queens Hall, Edinburgh and His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen.
Peter has now become one of
Scotland’s
most popular and successful artists. We hope you will enjoy his work
and join his growing band of
collectors.
‘…An artist of great quality. Furthermore even thought he
doesn’t say it, the secret of this light and of Drewett’s
work lies in the perfection of his technique which ranks him with the
best painters. He is recognized as an heir of Turner, Aivazovky, Vermeer
and the Dutch School.’
Magda Bertran, Informacions Nacional, Spain
‘…The exhibition has been very much talked about, but no-one
could have imagined how successful it would turn out to be…in our
day Drewett is one of the leaders among painters of contemporary landscapes.’
